Today was the Carolina Wedding Guide’s annual Bridal Expo. The turnout was fantastic! After weeks of freezing cold weather, the sun came out and the brides came with it! Hosted every year at the Cape Fear Community College’s Schwartz Center, the CWG Expo is an unofficial anniversary for us at indigosilver. Last year’s 2010 Expo was our first-ever event as indigosilver and marked the transition from Jeff Poole Photography. Jeff and I had only arrived to Wilmington a day and a half prior to the show, and typed up our brochures on my laptop during the cross-country trip.
This year, we had a little more time to plan for the show, and we wanted to step up our game. Rather than displaying prints on easels, we wanted to create walls that would hang images as though it were our studio or our one of clients’ homes. We also wanted to create an atmosphere that was inviting for brides to come in and relax while checking out albums and slideshows. Finally, we also wanted to showcase the indigobooth, our brand-new photobooth!
Our booth design was several weeks in the making… we leaked hints here and there about what we were up to, including this photo Jeff posted to Facebook from his iPhone:
We rented a U-Haul to cart the walls, floors, and furniture to the Schwartz Center and parked it overnight so we had a great parking spot in the morning. A few hours for setup, and here’s the final product!
Our booth was absolutely packed for the entire duration of the show! Jeff, Benton, Lesley, and I were all talking to brides at the same time, and there was barely a moment for rest! We had a great time meeting brides and vendors alike throughout the day.
Special thanks to Anthony Deninno of Symmetry Event Solutions for our booth furnishings and to Mike Raab of Carolina Wedding Guide for hosting a great event!
