When Kathryn first came to us, it was clear that quality photography was important to her. Her Charlotte wedding venue, called Roof With A View, features an outdoor deck with a view of downtown Charlotte’s skyscrapers. Capturing the downtown skyline in the evening poses a unique challenge with lighting and exposure, and many of the Charlotte-area photographers she spoke to admitted they weren’t up to the task.

Kathryn and Michael were then referred to us by Marie and Mark, who were in turn referred to us by Kim and Adam. So, we packed our bags for a weekend in Charlotte!
Kathryn and Michael planned a lot of time for creative photography. Once the bride and bridesmaids were completely dressed, we had a full hour with the girls to take advantage of the hotel decor and downtown’s unique architecture.

Kathryn and Michael also planned a pre-ceremony Reveal, which is a private meeting of the bride and groom to share their thoughts and emotions on the wedding day. Reveals, or First Looks, also make for great photography, and also allow us more time for creative photography with the bride, groom, and bridal party. We had two and half hours for pictures at downtown’s “The Green”, and some time at Roof With A View for some sunset skyline photos… all before the evening ceremony!

The night-time ceremony was romantic, lit only by twinkle lights around the room and the lights of the city beyond. After the ceremony, Kathryn changed into a gorgeous black and white cocktail gown.
