Miss M. is a bride-to-be in Wilmington NC who came to indigosilver studio for bridal boudoir photography as a wedding-day gift for her fiance.
How We Planned Her Portrait Session
Every boudoir portrait session is planned and customized based on each client’s needs at a consultation meeting. We talk about what “feel” she wants the session to have, then what products she’s looking for, outfits, how to prepare, and more.
Session Goals & Outfit Planning
M. had three goals for her boudoir photography: something that represented him, something that represented her, and something the represented the two of them together.
SOMETHING MASCULINE: She already knew that she wanted to incorporate his lacrosse jersey in a few of the images. We decided it should have that “boyfriend tee” type of vibe – and I suggested some basic Calvin Klein cotton undies to finish the look.

SOMETHING FEMININE: Next, to represent herself, she definitely wanted over-the-top sexy lingerie. I love this nude and black garter skirt with stockings!

SOMETHING BRIDAL: Finally, since this is a wedding gift, what better representation of “them” than some gorgeous bridal boudoir, complete with a veil? I am absolutely in love with how these turned out!

Product Goals
Since this is going to be a wedding gift for her future hubby, M. definitely wanted a tangible gift she could wrap and give to him, that would last a lifetime. Together we designed a gorgeous archival album in black leather. M. wanted something clean and masculine that he would like. We added a understated monogram printed on the cover. I cannot WAIT to see this album printed!
EDIT, May 3: The album has arrived! Here it is, below:
Next, she also wanted something to display in the bedroom. So, we are creating her a single wall print of her favorite bridal image. Third, both M. and her hubby will be able to keep and share their images in our custom-designed mobile app.
I am so excited and honored to work with this gorgeous bride. I love to think that these images will be preserved for generations to come!
