When you think of a Jazz bar in New Orleans, what do you picture? Jeff and I pictured a dark little bar… people sipping wine in the shadows… a man in the corner smoking a cigarette with his hat tipped low over his eyes… and the band! Music as smooth as caramel coming from the stage, and in the center spotlight — a large man playing his heart out on the sax, pausing to sing with a gravelly Louis Armstrong type of voice, sweat beading on his brow…
Well, we looked all over the place for such a jazz bar. We found Karaoke bars, Piano bars, loud dance bars… no jazz bars.
